Same for me here, yet I'm still not sure if it might be because I'm using the run.bat to start the game, because I've tried everything including updating the networking to 3.5 and the patch still won't open. But I can connect to user panel. Edit:
Okay, I tried reinstalled the whole thing once more and tried running the patcher on this computer (Vista 64 bit) still nothing. Ran the game using the .bat again and tried to make a new character. Game still crashes.
This time I tried opening the patcher on my other computer (Vista 32 bit) and the patcher opens just fine. I ran the game from there. But it still crashes when I try to create a character. Tried the same thing with the .bat on there and same result.
Must be some connection thing cause I'm pretty sure the network 3.5 update has nothing to do with it.
